Story

A classic office romance between the Accountant and the I.T contractor. After discovering a mutual love of steak, wine, and cheese, an inevitable path was paved from friendship to relationship. It didn’t take long to see we would be stuck with each other for life, and we can’t wait to spend the day celebrating this fact with you!

Tidbits

A healthy mix of stalking and persistence, plus well planned strategies (thanks to the best man!).
We were friends for over a year initially when finally Bex decided to give Tony a chance - we've never looked back!
Bex loves her animals, reading massively long books and series, and travelling ridiculous hours & distances to hunt or compete on weekends. Being raised on a small lifestyle block in Pokeno was the best upbringing a kid could ask for and many hours were spent exploring the outdoors, going on long adventures with friends and their ponies, and generally doing anything involving dirt/dogs/or horses! Since the age of 8 she started riding and soon this took over any other sport interests - the pony mad phase never ended. Bex was good at maths so the only logical step was to become an accountant. After completing a BCOM at Auckland University she decided to give the Big City life a go, but 6 months later found herself missing the rural lifestyle so moved to Pukekohe. A few years later Bex moved into town with Tony, but low and behold within a couple of years she'd convinced him to buy a rural property with her, he doesn't seem to mind that much 🙂 Bex is a Chartered Accountant and works at ANZ Bank as a Relationship Manager in the Lending Services team based in the CBD.
Tony has always been an aspiring belly dancer while funding his lifestyle as a novice pick pocket. If we have a few kids they would start a motorcycle gang called Sons of Antony. Although not everyone knows this, he once saved a guy from drowning when he was in the special forces. When someone meets Tony, they usually think something like 'I wish I was more like Tony'.
Tony was raised in West Auckland - in true Westie style his interests are guns, cars, and questionable tastes in alcohol. Tony's favourite car is his Nissan Silvia which he plans to get up to race spec in the near future (uhuh). Animals definitely take up 99% of Tony's heart, and cats hold a special #1 spot. Technology has always played a huge role throughout his life, being able to tinker with electronics and computers as a young boy led to making it a career as an IT Engineer.
Hunting is a pastime we both enjoy, though we have dabbled in dancing as well. And of course we love eating steak! We love trying new wines, new cheeses, and trying them all again just to be sure. Sometimes we like doing these things together as well 😝
Every trip to Queenstown together has provided a lifetime of memories - including but not limited to our engagement & trips with our best friends.
It was all planned down to the very last detail. Tony designed the ring months in advance, & had it all ready for a trip to Queenstown. After an amazing couple of days spent exploring including a helicopter sightseeing trip, & a few too many rounds of liquid courage the night before.... Tony proposed while at Onsen Hot Pools! Luckily Bex said yes (and didn't actually require any further convincing - I guess Stockholm syndrome has kicked in already) which brings us here today!

Schedule

Registry

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift of all.
However, should you wish to honour us with a gift, a Wishing Well will be available at the reception for your contribution and best wishes.

Any questions just ask us!

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

Please RSVP by February 14th 2023, so we can have an accurate headcount. 🙂
As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. However, we recognize that some of you will be traveling with your kids, so please know they are welcome at the Sunday Brunch!
There is plenty of car parking on site in a paddock close to the ceremony location. For any very large vehicles (e.g trucks / campervans etc) let Bex and Tony know if you intend to bring this, it’s no problem we will ensure there is an easily accessible flat space available for you to park.
There are a bunch of grassy/dirt areas that you will have to walk on so would suggest wearing suitable footwear. If you really want to wear stiletto type heels, it would be a good idea to use plastic heel protectors.
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them with us on social media – please wait until after we have made our announcement post to do so – don’t worry we won’t leave you waiting long! 🙂 The only exception for taking photos is to please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony while there is a photographer present.
Important question! We will be basing alcohol purchases (beer & wine) based on the RSVP answers – so please give your best indication of your preference. There will also be non-alcoholic choices available. We encourage BYO for spirits or RTD’s or anything specific to your tastes.
Since we will be on our own property there is no specific end time!
All available rooms on the property are reserved – however if you have available a horse truck with accom, campervan, caravan, or similar there is plenty of space for it onsite. Let Bex and Tony know so arrangements can be made. Alternatively reach out for recommendations of local taxi’s, Airbnb’s, B&B’s, etc!
Check your invite for your +1! Any questions, feel free to ask Bex or Tony.
Auckland weather can be unpredictable! During the day, the weather in Auckland should be beautiful, averaging 15-20 degrees, but will get chilly in the evening. Please bring some warm layers for the evening.
If you wear Semi-formal or Cocktail attire you will fit right in.
We are planning to have the ceremony outdoors, unless the weather is unkind then it will be in the marquee along with the reception. 🙂
Please let us know in your RSVP so we can ensure there are suitable options available (and if necessary seat you at the table behind the shed just in case your condition is contagious…. We also don’t want people knowing we associate with your kind… Out of sight out of mind 😛 ). However if you are vegan I hope you like potatoes!
A wedding wishing well is a fancy donation box that gained popularity among bridal couples of certain countries who have often lived together before marrying, and do not need any of the traditional wedding gifts. They are also used to collect wedding wishes or marriage quotes, poems and messages of congratulations. Why Choose a Wishing Well Wedding? There are many different reasons couples choose to request cash instead of gifts at their wedding. Some of the most popular reasons behind a wishing well are that the couple: Simply has what they need and don’t want additional home-related gifts, Would prefer money to finance an unforgettable honeymoon, or Wants to save up for a big-ticket item, like a mortgage or home remodel
Yes we will make guest Wifi available. Please note that phone reception is patchy.
